Can They Email As Me? checks whether your domain's publicly published email-authentication records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC and related signals) would let someone else send convincing email pretending to be you.

Who operates it

Can They Email As Me? is operated by Suburban Secure, a brand of Suburban Australia, which also operates Townsville Computer Man. Suburban Secure offers paid professional services (domain review, DKIM/SPF/DMARC implementation, managed DMARC) as a separate, optional escalation path from this free tool.

Technical author and maintainer

The methodology and educational material are maintained by Nicholas O’Sullivan, founder of Suburban Secure. Nicholas is an ACS Certified Technologist (MACS CT), an ACSC Partnership Program Business Partner, and an IT practitioner with more than 15 years’ experience across small organisations and enterprise environments. What it can tell you

It reads public DNS, TLS and mail-transport records and explains what they mean for email impersonation risk.

What it can't tell you

It cannot inspect your mailbox, administrator accounts, multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, backups, internal configuration or human processes. A clean result is not a claim that a domain or organisation is "secure" — see the methodology page for the full test contract and limitations.

Automated guidance vs professional advice

Findings and candidate DNS changes are generated automatically from deterministic rules and public evidence. They are general guidance, not a professional audit, and are clearly distinguished from any paid review a Suburban Secure engineer performs.
